Opportunity Description – To provide clerical support to the Handyperson Manager in our Lotland Street Office. This is a very busy office which deals with numerous phonecalls from people who require help in their homes and gardens. Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to us Microsoft Office and E-mails.
Organisation Information – The aim of the scheme is to offer a repair and assistance service to the elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the community, whilst also working alongside Police Scotland and Trading Standards to prevent victimisation by rogue traders. Volunteering Highland provided this service in Inverness and Nairn from 1999 to 2011, and in 2011 Volunteering Highland became Signpost, and extended their area to cover the Badenoch and Strathspey area.
The service enables clients to have small Handyperson tasks carried out, increases social contact and provides information and advice.
