Community Planning

Community Planning

The Scottish Government defines Community Planning as ‘a process which helps public agencies to work together with the community to plan and deliver better services which make a real difference to people’s lives’.

In recognition of the importance of Third Sector representation in the Community Planning process, Signpost has been invited to be a core member of the Inverness Community Planning Partnership.

Signpost works to represent our local Third Sector in Community Planning agendas and also looks to promote strong relationships between public bodies and the communities and groups working within them.  Signpost aims to consult with Third Sector organisations and individuals in their area, and involve them in the community planning process where appropriate. By working within the Planning Partnership, this supports the aim of ensuring that communities are actively involved in decisions about public services that directly affect them.
